I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some incredible creatives over the years—and Freedy Johnston is one of those rare talents. Named Rolling Stone’s Songwriter of the Year in 1994 and often called “a songwriter’s songwriter,” Freedy’s music has a timeless quality that resonates deeply. By chance and maybe some accidental manifestation—when I was at my parents house watching the movie Kingpin and thinking I kind of like this music, never did I expect to actually one day meet him and become great friends. There’s something magnetic about creative energy—it draws like minds together. Over the years, I’ve created several graphics and brand photoshoots for Freedy, many of which have been featured in publications across the country.
